Wyoming’s Stable Token Commission has added an on-chain reserve-verification layer to FRNT, the state-issued Frontier Stable Token.
The Commission says it adopted Chainlink Proof of Reserve for near-real-time verification of reserves backing FRNT, plus Secure Mint controls intended to prevent issuance when reserve conditions are not satisfied.
This is not a reserve-deficit event. CEXVia classifies it as a positive transparency and market-structure development.
Why Proof of Reserve matters
A fiat-backed stablecoin must keep two values aligned:
- circulating on-chain supply;
- off-chain reserve assets.
Near-real-time PoR reduces the time gap between reserve verification and token supply.
FRNT reserve design
The Commission says FRNT is backed by U.S. dollars and short-term U.S. Treasury assets.
The new integration turns reserve status into an on-chain signal that applications and market participants can consume.
Secure Mint
PoR becomes more useful when it affects issuance controls.
Secure Mint is intended to prevent new supply from being created when reserve conditions are not satisfied.
That reduces unbacked-mint risk, but does not remove custody, legal segregation, valuation, redemption-liquidity or oracle risk.
Cross-chain risk
FRNT also uses Chainlink CCIP as cross-chain infrastructure.
Cross-chain stablecoins must avoid duplicate supply, mint/burn accounting errors, bridge compromise and reserve/supply reconciliation mismatches.
